Just wanted to clear the last garble of a journal away and make way for something new.
Since last October-ish I've been working on a live brief to help design characters and put together the 1st issue of a new space themed graphic novel. (in collaboration with a few other illustrators and graphic designers)

I'm not legally allowed to post anything about it or any of the designs (Which is a bit of a ball ache when it seems to be all I'm doing.) It started off quite bumpy at first with one of my project managers dropping out and an art director having panic attacks but it seems to have sorted itself out.

This is why I never post anything. I don't like the idea of getting sued for posting my own artwork. However, as soon as the asset library and issue are complete then I'll post away to my little hearts content.

But if all goes well, I'll have made a freaking comic book.

The script writer originally wanted it for a big budget movie and his way to get into the industry (he thinks) is through making it a comic book. Personally I think this is a terrible idea and it spits on comics as a well rounded medium. But if I waste this opportunity then I'm an idiot, so personal feelings aside I'll get on with designing these characters...

And if he DOES ever move it along then I'll have made a prelude to a movie. Yay?

Hopefully he never finds out I have a DA. /Does this sound negative at all? ¬ ¬

That doesn't sound weird at all. It's your work, so what would be wrong with you wanting to share it like you do with all of your other art? :]

Congrats though! That is so exciting, and I'm really happy for you. Maybe they'll just have it be a really awesome comic book and make a lot of issues?

^^ Thanks. This was something we hoped to continue through with but at the moment it's looking like one asset library, 1 issue and a branding guide (Which is down to the other 2 awesome graphic designers, I just get to make pretty people.) As soon as it's all handed/printed in I can realese in on line. =3

Looking forward to hearing more about this. Hope it goes well for you, and even if it doesn't end up being a movie hopefully you'll end up a few quid richer.

Thank you. ~ I hope we can get over the last few stumbling bumps that have held us back. Today was a good day. And yes, money is always a welcome bonus. XD

I've actually had to sign a legal contract to say I won't publish any of it on line. They're not my characters (thankfully), just my designs. But we'll see how it turns out.

Checked him out, not bad for newspaper/funnies style.
