When I started High school in 2001 I was 11 years old and simpley known as: THat weird girl named Leigh.
Anyway, I used to practically live in the library and I came across a series of books in their "Horror Section." A book case of Goosebumps and Buff books mostly, but there one one tittle that caught my eye's. "The Last Vampire" By Christopher Pike. It was a really heavy book for an 11 year old and I've always wondered how I was allowed to check it out in the first place. The librarian knew I was a year 7 becasue Of my ID card but meh, that's not the point.
I'd always had a fascination with vampires and got into nearly every thing I could that had them in. (Buffy mostly...I was the kid with the Buffy back and had James Marsters (spike) all over her school books...with the X-men in toe...XD)
Anyway, these series of books dealt with vampires, Hinduism, pregnancy, sex and HIV. (The last being the one I knew least about) But I never really questioned what it was, only that the main character friend's had it (an amateur writer named Seymour) and was cured by the vampire, Sita. (Don't ask)...
Anyway, I never got to read the last book (number 6) becasue the library didn't have it and I kept asking for them to buy it in. They wouldn't and I eventually lost interest (like most kids do).
I just found out in the last book that the main character (somehow) travels back in time and prevents vampires from coming into existence, meaning the previous books never even existed.
The book ends as Seymour completes his work on his latest story. The reader finds that the saga of Sita, the Last Vampire is a story dreamt up by Seymour, who is in fact dying of his HIV infection.
I feel bummed. -.-

My cousin got me to read the first couple chain letter books. Then some book about a kid with a camera or something. Most memorable thing is that I called pretty much everyone's fate from the foreshadowing in the opening chapter in that one. Something about teenage witches... I don't remember.
Also don't remember what my point was.. Hmmm...
I turned 12 in the December of going and i left when I was 16 to go to college for 2 years..Now i'm done with that, i'm at university for the next 3 years. =3
