David Haller A.K.A Legion. Professor Xavier's son and one my favourites who is sorely unappreciated.

New fans find out about Wiccan and how he's Magneto's gay grandson (Which is great, I love new fans, more people should read comics) But I end up sat here like "Well this is David and he's-oh...oh ok then." Because really, he's not an easy character to like.

He's gone from being a little autistic kid, to having the personalty of terrorists co-inhabiting him and then on to being one of the most powerful Omega level mutants. Then Age of X happened. He just wanted to be a hero.

And his hair. His hair wanted to be a hero. (Seriously though, 35 years later and it's still holding up like that. He's compensating for Daddy's lack of...)

(I'll stop being Sappy now. It's all Snape and Harry Potters fault)

LW!

His hair so did want to be a hero. Sigh. You really have the best grasp on his character that I've seen in fandom--and better than some of the official writers, but I think that's my Legion bias talking. The style is wonderfully weird, and your picture gave me a hankering to re-read New Mutants #26 and #27. I love your colors. So bright and pop-y, particularly after comparing them to 1980s printing efforts--and yet because you used the tone dots, everything fits together. Dont' mind me, I'm awash in maudlin comics ponderings tonight, it seems. Just wanted to say that I love your art, and you do Legion total justice.

Well thank you for the in depth comment! This is quite an old piece now, but I'm still glad you like it. Have you been reading the new X-Men Legacy, the whole arc is currently David trying to figure out his mind and what kind of mutant/hero he want's to be. c:

I probably will when I've saved up some more money. Everything is going to school loans right now. I finally did pick up Necrosha though! (Thank you for confirming that I should buy it) ... which I guess should tell you how far behind I am. I haven't even read all of Zeb Wells' run on New Mutants ^^; I've heard that the people who finished the run weren't as strong, which is sad, because I have been loving the early stuff. I'll keep my eye out for newer issues of Legacy. At least I'll be able to read the whole story in one chunk, instead of waiting month to month ^^.

I rarely read X-men comics... and one day I stumbled onto this character. And he's.... INTERESTING.
Also, his hair.
IT'S MAGICAL.

I had to go look him up on comicvine... because I had no idea he existed. That's probably testimony enough to how unpopular the poor boy is.

:petting: You make him looks really good here! I can't imagine how much styling mousse it takes for him to keep that cylinder of hair upright every morning.

He's pretty sweet as far as characters go and later issues have showed that he really doesn't want to be a 'bad guy' as he's been targeted as in the past.

Ha, his hair. Even in his re-style for age of X the made in to some kind of modern mohawk but...still a collum of hair.
